What is LINE
LINE is an instant messaging application launched by NHN Japan, a subsidiary of the Korean internet group NHN. It was officially released in June 2011, and has more than 400 million registered users worldwide.
LINE’s “chat stickers” feature offers over 250 types, providing users with a fun tool to express emotions.
In Japan and Taiwan, LINE is the most widely used messaging app. LINE has about 82 million monthly active users in Japan [1-2], while in Taiwan, with a population of around 23 million, LINE’s local branch has about 21 million users.
Main markets: Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan.
LINE Official Account (LOA)
Service Types
A LINE Official Account is a dedicated LINE account for businesses. With it, you can connect with your customers. LINE offers different services depending on the intended use:
- LINE Official Notification (LON): Used to send notification messages to end users.
- LINE Official Account (LOA): Used to provide customer support.
Currently, NXLink only supports LOA two-way communication, based on LINE ID.
Account Types
LINE Official Accounts enable one-on-one communication and deliver a rich customer experience. When you connect a LINE Official Account to the NXLink platform, you can leverage NXLink solutions to enhance messaging, build relationships with customers, and deliver memorable user experiences.
Types of LINE Official Accounts:
- Standard Account (Gray Shield)
- Verified Account (Blue Shield)
- Premium Account (Green Shield)
Standard Account
- Not verified by LINE Corporation.
- Comes with basic functions.
- Available to businesses, groups, or individuals.
Verified Account & Premium Account
- Verified by LINE Corporation.
- Easily searchable through LINE and other search engines.
- Verified Accounts provide additional features such as invoicing modules and LINE Now.
- Premium Accounts provide advanced API features and are reserved for large brands or organizations. LINE has not disclosed the criteria for upgrading to a Premium Account.
To use a Verified or Premium Account, you must first purchase a Premium ID and then submit the account for LINE Corporation’s review. Only after passing the review will your account receive a Verified or Premium badge. The review process may take 5–10 business days. For details, refer to the LINE Official Account Guidelines on the LINE website.
Premium ID
Both Standard and Verified Accounts include a basic ID, which consists of random alphanumeric characters. If you want a specific combination of letters and numbers, you can purchase a Premium ID.
- A Premium ID makes it easier for customers to remember and add your account.
- A Premium ID can contain up to 18 characters.
