Facebook Page Binding with WhatsApp and Adding Call-to-Action (CTA) Button

Module 0: Create a Facebook Page

1. Go to Facebook and click Pages on the left menu bar.

2. Click Create New Page to create a Facebook Page and fill in the required information.

Module 1: Bind WhatsApp Number to Facebook Page

⚠️ Note:
You can associate up to 50 WhatsApp accounts with a Facebook Page, but only one can be set for the WhatsApp CTA button.

A. Bind WhatsApp Number When Creating a New Page

1. After creating a Page, the left side will display an information entry process. At step 3, you will see the option to bind a WhatsApp number. You can complete the binding here.

B. Bind WhatsApp Number After a Page Has Been Created

1. Go to your Facebook Page and click Professional Dashboard.

2. Click Linked Accounts.

3. Click View under the WhatsApp account section.

4. Enter your WhatsApp number and verification code. A notification will appear stating your request is pending review. To cancel, click Cancel Request.

   Once approved, you will receive a notification in Business Manager (Meta backend: https://business.facebook.com/), and your Facebook Page will be bound with the WhatsApp Business API account. You can view the bound WhatsApp number in the Page Settings tab.

   This binding request will also appear in the WhatsApp number’s BM Business Account under Settings → Requests → Other Requests, where the creator and admins with full permissions can review and approve it.

Module 2: Add a Call-to-Action (CTA) Button to a Facebook Page

A. Add CTA Button When Creating a New Page

1. During Page creation, at step 2, you will see the option to add a CTA button.

2. Select the function you want. If you want customers to directly start a WhatsApp chat through the button, choose Send WhatsApp Message.

3. Enter the WhatsApp number. You will receive a verification code via WhatsApp message from Facebook. Enter the code to complete the setup.

B. Add CTA Button After Page Has Been Created

1. Go to Manage Page, then click ... and select Add Call-to-Action Button.

   • If you see Add WhatsApp Number, you can also enter from there.

2. Select the desired function. To link to WhatsApp chat, choose Send WhatsApp Message.

3. Enter the WhatsApp number. You will receive a verification code in WhatsApp from Facebook. Enter the code to complete.

Notes:

• (1) If the WhatsApp number is used via the NXLink platform, the verification code can be received and checked in Chat Dialogues under the corresponding group or bot, provided the number is assigned to an agent or agent group.

• (2) If clicking Send Verification Code does nothing, it is recommended to create a new Facebook Page and try again.

Module 3: Troubleshooting Binding Errors

Error Message:
“This Facebook Page can’t be linked to a WhatsApp Number. Please connect the Page to a Business and try again.”

Cause:
The Facebook Page is not yet added to the BM Business Asset Group that owns the WhatsApp number.

Solution:

1. Confirm whether the FB account that owns this Page is an admin of the BM Business Asset Group associated with the WhatsApp number.

   • If not, first invite this FB account as an admin. (Refer to help doc: How to Add a BM Admin).

   • If yes, proceed to the next step.

2. In the BM backend, go to Accounts → Pages → Add → Add an Existing Facebook Page, search for the Page name, and claim it.

3. After successfully claiming, return to the Page’s WhatsApp binding page and rebind the WhatsApp number. It should succeed this time.
