Step 1: Log in to Facebook Homepage
Open https://www.facebook.com/, enter your FB account and password, and complete the login.
Step 2: Choose a Security Verification Method
Once inside the Facebook homepage, click your profile picture in the top right corner.
Go to: Settings & Privacy → Settings → Password and Security → Two-Factor Authentication → Choose a Security Verification Method.

It is recommended to use an authentication app for verification.
Step 3: Download an Authentication App
We recommend downloading Google Authenticator or Duo Mobile.

Scan the QR code
Open the authenticator app, scan the QR code on the setup page, then click Continue. -
Enter the verification code
Use the authenticator app to obtain the 6-digit code, enter it on the setup page, and click Continue. -
Enter your FB account password
On the popup page, enter your Facebook account password, then click Submit. Two-factor authentication will be successfully enabled.
Using Google Chrome to Get Verification Codes
In addition to using a mobile authenticator app, you can also use Google Chrome to get verification codes.
⚠️ Note: You must have already enabled two-factor authentication before using this method.

Go to the Chrome Web Store
Open Chrome, click the three-dot icon in the top right, then select Extensions → Visit Chrome Web Store. -
Search for Google Authenticator
In the Chrome Web Store, search for Google Authenticator. -
Install Google Authenticator
Click Add to Chrome, then in the popup, click Add Extension. Once installed, you can find it in your Chrome extensions. -
Add another device
Log into your Facebook homepage, go to the Two-Factor Authentication settings, and add Google Chrome as another bound device. -
Scan the QR code
Open the Google Authenticator extension in Chrome, click the Scan button, and scan the QR code shown on the page. Once scanned, you will see a popup saying “************* has been added”**. Click OK. -
Enter the verification code
You will be asked to enter the 6-digit code generated by your authenticator:-
(1) Enter the code provided by the Chrome Authenticator extension.

(2) If prompted to check your mobile authenticator app, provide the code from your phone’s authenticator app.

(3) Once entered, the setup for using Google Chrome to get verification codes is complete.
